We are Obsessed with: Ffffound

I think Josh and I spend way too much time on ffffound, and by that I mean it's an endless pit of inspiration and is constantly giving. It's interesting to watch these image bookmarking sites turn into the new hot shit. It's replaced my urge to open something like Print's Design Annual when in need of some quick stimuli. Definitely a trend to watch. Now if we could just get an invite...

Pitchfork Goes Live

Tangible Worldwide just launched Pitchfork's new website this morning and it looks SICK. Great job to everyone that worked so hard on the site. Side note I redesigned their logo for the new site. They wanted to keep a lot of the characteristics of their old logo but make it feel a little more up to date and cleaner. Have a great Monday.

Josh entered this tee "The Drifters are Lost" in a Hurley competition and needs your vote!

It's a quick sign-up and the win could net Josh some cash and a killer tee in their line. Vote your face off.

The Soundtrack to "Home is Where You Make it"

Download the 16:00 soundtrack here!

For the full effect head over to Jolby and Friends and click through the show while listening.

We were very fortunate to have our good pal Andy Roush write and compose an original soundtrack for the show that played during the opening and looped all night. Much like our art, Andy made a lot of the sounds by hand. For instance, certain drumming sounds were made by putting a VHS tape on Andy's chest and banging it while recording the noise. The soundtrack was written in 3 parts that represent each chapter in William's journey. Check out more of Andy's fine music here.

PDF of Show & more

So as you probably noticed this week we kind of lagged on posts. We decided to take it easy and let our minds and bodies relax alittle. We just got the updated pdf from Subtext with all the pieces from the show.

Please contact the gallery using the info in the .pdf with any purchase inquiries. A huge thank you to anyone that purchased a piece online or at the show, we can't even express what it means for someone to connect with our art and then purchase it. So amazing.

We will be updating our site with the full show and older work that we have done. We will also be getting a store up very soon and will be doing alot more fun prints/art/skateboards/milk cartons you know the normal stuff.

Lastly, when Colby and I first came up with the story for "Home is Where You Make it" we knew that we wanted it to be a book. And after the response at the show and online that will be our next project. As we develop it we will be posting pics and such so keep a look out for that. If you know anyone or know someone that knows someone that might know Kevin Bacon that might help us get this published we would be very grateful. Thanks and have a great weekend. Above are some of the pieces from the show we haven't featured yet. I want that ukulelee =)

1 Day Left: It's all there!

Wow. What a long road it has been to get to this point. Josh and I have been up super early each day this week finishing the pieces, seeing great friends, eating like kings, and we just finished hanging everything in the show. We are so proud of the work and have so many people to thank that without them none of this would be possible. Hope to see you out there tomorrow so that you can join us in sharing this work with everyone and eat some freshly-baked chocolate chip cookies (what says 'home' more than that?) and some beer/wine, of course. We've also already sold 5 pieces and the show hasn't even opened yet!

2 Days Left: Finishing the Show

Sorry Everyone for the lack of in progress pictures during the week. We thought we would have easy access to the internet and that is proving to be a little hard. But everything is going great and we finished all the art work today and ready to hang the show. We hope to see you there if not you can head over to Subtext and view a preview of the show. The paintings and Plush aren't in the preview but we hope to have those up soon. Above is a preview of the Matryoshka Dolls we painted. They represent William the main character and illustrate patterns that make up who he is and his journey. Ok we'll have some updates tomorrow from the gallery as we are hanging stuff. If they have internet =)

3 Days: Kitsune Noir Wallpaper Project

We're so honored today to be posted on Kitsune Noir, the blog of all things awesome by Bobby Solomon, with artwork from the show. The two wallpapers above can be downloaded right here in sizes of 1024x 768 up to 1900 x 1200 including an iPhone and PSP wallpaper as well. We hope you'll go and download them so your eyeballs can feast and be satisfied. We emailed Bobby a few weeks ago to ask if we could launch these in conjunction with the show opening this Saturday and he was more than happy to. Thanks, Bobby!

It's so cool to be a part of this project that has been done by big name arists like Gama-Go, Jean Julian, Peitari Posti, Josh Cochran, Travis Millard, Mike Perry, and a lot more.

3 Days: Finishing the Paintings

Josh and I arrived in San Diego yesterday and after stopping by Subtext we got right to work. We've got a lot of paintings to finish in the next few days and above is Josh smelling it up.
Today we're speaking at the Art Institute here in San Diego as well as seeing some old friends. More soon!

5 Days: Jolby Arrival & Gallery Preview

Most of you reading the updates know that Josh and I live pretty far from each other, but still manage to work together seamlessly through the wonders of the iPhone and the interwebs. We arrive in San Diego tomorrow and have plenty to do today in preparation. However, everything seems to be falling in place quite nicely.

Subtext has posted a short preview of the prints with a first look at pricing for the show. We definitely wanted the art to be accessible to everyone. Remember to check back all week for our posts 'til the show opens on Saturday.

9 Days Remain: Dolls For Friends Sneak Peak

We got these awesome shots in the e-mails today from our collabers Dolls for Friends of the dolls they are creating for "Home is Where You Make it." This is just a peak at only three of the dolls they are hand-crafting based on our characters we use to tell the show's story. We are so excited to see the characters in plush form and to see them come to life!

12 Days Left: Screen Printing with Keegan

Only 12 days left and we're updating this week with the screen prints for the show that are awaiting your eyeballs. The dude with the glasses above (who is ever-so-carefully registering the screen) is Keegan Onefoot who is 1/2 of Keegan Meegan Press & Bindery in Portland, OR. I got to spend a few hours this week with the pressman himself talking art, color, some politics, and coffee. He is an awesome guy and a great artist as well. I would recommend you contact him for any screen print or letterpress needs if you are in the area. Enjoy the process shots above and keep an eye out for a sneak peak link that should be going up soon with even more eyeball-teasers. Cheers kids!

18 Days Left: Dolls For Friends

We are collaborating with the amazingly talented team that is Erin & Jill Lynch who are better known as Dolls for Friends. They are a husband and wife design team who work as collaborators on a wide variety of art-based projects and have joined us to sew some custom dolls of our characters and objects as one-off art pieces for the show. They are two of the nicest people I've met in the NW and they are a blast to work with. Check out their awesome work and don't forget to visit their Etsy store.

(Note: the dolls below are not from our show, but are Erin & Jill's original creations).
